Thanks to its modular and scalable architecture, the
Honeywell emergency announcement system delivers integrated
solutions for general paging, background music, emergency alerts and guided
evacuation in both small buildings and large, complex facilities. The
Honeywell voice alarm system, designed in compliance with
EN 54-16 compliant voice alarm requirements, supports safe
evacuation and effective crisis management.
Platform families such as INTEVIO, X-618 and VARIODYN D1 provide
emergency announcement and paging system solutions across
different segments, offering PA/VA
(PA VA emergency announcement system) infrastructure with
multi-zone management, digital audio control, remote monitoring and seamless
integration with building management systems. From shopping malls and
airports to office towers and campuses, Honeywell PA/VA systems ensure high
availability and uninterrupted communication across all critical areas.
Overview of Honeywell Emergency Announcement and Voice Alarm Solutions
With its modular design, the Honeywell emergency announcement system
unifies background music, public address, alarm and guided evacuation scenarios
under a single platform. It offers flexible configurations that can be tailored
to the needs of small, medium and large-scale projects, providing a reliable
tool for consultants, designers and facility managers.
Within the safe building operation concept, the
Honeywell voice alarm system goes beyond simple siren-based
alerts. Pre-recorded and scenario-driven voice messages inform people inside
the building exactly what to do, helping evacuations to be faster, more
controlled and less prone to panic.
The Role of Voice Alarm and Regulatory Compliance
In line with current codes and international standards, a
voice alarm system is now a critical requirement in many
building types to ensure correct information and guided evacuation during
fire, earthquake, security breaches and other emergencies.
Honeywell solutions are designed as
EN 54-16 compliant voice alarm systems, ensuring that
parameters such as audio quality, system redundancy, monitoring and fault
reporting meet stringent regulatory and performance requirements.
INTEVIO Integrated Emergency Announcement and Voice Alarm System
INTEVIO is a compact, integrated
emergency announcement and paging system, ideal for small
and medium-sized sites as a PA/VA
(PA VA emergency announcement system) platform. Its dual-channel
audio matrix and capacity of up to 128 loudspeaker zones enable high-quality
audio distribution for live announcements, automatic messages, digital volume
control, dynamic amplifier redundancy and comprehensive system supervision.
A user-friendly interface, programmable keys, remote access and flexible
scheduling capabilities significantly reduce the dependency on operator
expertise while increasing operational efficiency. Quick access to fault and
event logs through the controller display also simplifies maintenance and
troubleshooting.

The 3.5” LCD display on the INTEVIO controller provides direct
access to events and fault records, allowing quick detection and
resolution of issues. Time schedules for school bells or routine
announcements can be configured for days, weeks or longer periods
and synchronised via an NTP server to maintain accurate time
settings.
Operators can temporarily enable or disable specific tasks within
an existing schedule, enabling last-minute changes without
restarting the system. This flexibility helps INTEVIO adapt easily
to changing operational requirements.

X-618 Digital Public Address and Voice Alarm System
X-618 is an ethernet-based, digitally networked
Honeywell emergency announcement system designed for
five-star hotels, high-rise office buildings, shopping centres and similar
mid-to-large-scale projects that require comprehensive audio management.
Starting with 8 zones and expandable up to 2,000 zones, X-618 offers
integrated time scheduling, automatic level control based on ambient noise
and flexible scenario management. This allows the system to handle both
everyday paging and background music tasks as well as mission-critical voice
alarm functions on the same platform.
When used with the X-Smart software, operators can monitor and control system
activities via e-maps, while the text-to-speech interface can convert written
messages into audio inputs for the system. These features streamline daily
operation and help minimise human error during emergencies.
VARIODYN D1 Public Address and Voice Alarm System
VARIODYN D1 leverages standard Ethernet and SNMP communication protocols to
deliver distributed control, easy supervision and significantly reduced
loudspeaker cabling costs, making it a powerful
emergency announcement and paging system for campus-type
and multi-building projects.
Up to 250 DOM units can operate on the same network without a mandatory
master/slave hierarchy, ensuring that a failure in one unit does not bring
down the rest of the system. Continuous device monitoring and product
compliance with EN 54 and IEC 60849 provide a robust foundation for life
safety applications.
With PAMNI software, system status can be monitored centrally, PC-based
announcements can be made and integration with information displays in
airports, railway stations and similar facilities can be achieved.
Interrupted information announcements are automatically recorded by the SCU
unit during an emergency and replayed afterwards, ensuring continuity of
passenger or visitor information.
One of the most distinctive features of VARIODYN D1 is its loop technology.
Thanks to EN 54-17 certified loop isolators, any short-circuit occurring
between two isolators is automatically isolated, allowing the system to
maintain uninterrupted emergency paging on the remaining parts of the loop.
